How to provide Favicon to a Webpage

In this tutorial, I will show you how easily you can add Favicon to a webpage using HTML. As we know how much matter a logo to a company, It acts as a face. That’s why this post will help you to do that very easily.

What is Favicon?

A favicon is an icon that identifies a website in a browser. Most browsers display a website’s favicon in the left side of the address bar. Some browsers may also display the favicon in the browser tab, next to the page title.  And when we bookmarked some web page, its favicon is automatically saved along with a bookmark.

In this cod,e I’m using <link> tag. Inside link tag there are four attributes “rel”, “type”, “size” and “href”.

The “rel” attribute tells us about the relationship between the current document and the linked document.

The “type” attribute tells us about the type of input element to display.

The “size” attribute tells us about the width x height of the input element.

The “href” attribute contains the URL of the input element. ( here the input element is an image file )
